REACH helps NYC students pass Advanced Placement (AP) exams by providing academic and professional enrichment to thousands of New York City students and their teachers. REACH collaborates with national AP experts to supplement the work of teachers at REACH’s 30 partner schools. Students enrolled in REACH participate in 3 Saturday prep workshops and receive 18 hours of additional instruction in each AP subject in which they are enrolled. Students also receive supplemental AP materials and textbooks and become part of a community of high-achieving peers.
REACH Works!
REACH participants passed AP exams at a substantially higher rate than classmates who did not participate. In 2011, 43% of students who participated in all three REACH Saturday workshop sessions passed the AP exam. Of those who did not participate, only 15% passed.
