Hey everyone, here’s my second update as your junior blogger. Junior year is going by so fast, I can’t wait for the summer and then senior year. But first, I have to ace my AP exams which are right around the corner ( to be precise, in less than a week, aaahh!!!). But that’s okay, because I feel well prepared and ready. I’ll be taking AP Chemistry, AP English, and AP US History and so far I’ve attended 7 out of the 9 LEW sessions required. I’ve gotta admit, even though its on a Saturday and during regular school hours, it’s worth it. One learns and practices so much, that in the end, you come out confident and determined. My LEW sessions have been fun with free lunches and even a chance to hear our former school chancellor, Cathie Black and co-founder of Reach, Eddie Rodriguez. All in all, in the end, I gain memorable learning experiences that will never be forgotten.

In addition to that, I just want to take some time and share with you guys, some of my accomplishments this year. Firstly, I am very excited to tell you that I recently entered a competition called Chemagination. Here we had to innovate a design that would help teenagers 25 years from now. My group’s design was the “shell shelter” which would help anyone in dire need of a shelter, especially victims of natural disasters, just with the press of a button. The competition was held at St. John’s University and at first, it was very intimidating and nerve-wracking. To make a long story short, after all the judging and critiquing, my group came out to win 1st prize in our category. We were all thrilled and excited and were so happy to represent our school.  We will soon head over to Maryland to represent NY in the national competition and hopefully come out winners there too.Wish us luck!! :D Secondly, I recently attended Reach’s Breaking Barriers reception at the Harvard Club. This was super exciting as we got to meet with the people who sponsor Reach. We met with ivy league graduates, doctors, lawyers and financial expertise and shared our experiences with Reach. It was a pleasant and fine evening and my friends and I even snapped a picture together for the Bloomberg News (here check it out, http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-04-13/scene-last-night-redford-bronfman-weill-james-taylor-michael-douglas.html). This was all surreal and super exciting for us that we all truly, felt very achieved.
